48. Misery by Stephen King
I like Stephen King books and since I'd seen the movie but never read this book, I decided to check it out. I was surprised by how much more horrifying it was than the movie. Now I've read both books that I brought with me to Vegas and I still have four more days, so I'm going to have to stop by a bookstore and pick something else out.
A few years ago I made a goal to read 100 books per year. For the first year I made it halfway to my goal.

47. The Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Paterson
I read this on the plane on the way to Vegas. It is another kids book that I found in What to Read. I had seen previews for a movie of it and I thought it looked like a Narnia-type story. Actually it was just about kids pretending to be in a Narnia-type story, and it has kind of a My Girl ending, but it was really good.

46. Escape to Witch Mountain by Alexander Key
I checked out The Indian in the Cupboard to read again from the children's library and I saw this and thought I had read it before, so I checked it out. I recognized the name but as I read it I realized I've never read this before. Maybe I saw the movie, but I don't remember it. Anyway, it was a pretty good kids book and now I want to see the movie and read Return to Witch Mountain. I didn't count The Indian in the Cupboard since I've already read it, but I'm going to check out Return of the Indian and The Secret of the Indian and read them. I can't remember if I've read them before.

45. What To Read by Mickey Pearlman
This is another list of book to read, divided by topic, along with a short paragraph about each. I made a list of books to read as I went through the book and have quite a few to look up.

44. The Mother Tongue: English & How It Got That Way by Bill Bryson
I have not had any time to read for a while now and I was wondering if I would ever be able to finish this book. I should have had 50 books by the end of June, so I have some catching up to do. This book is really funny and really interesting. In Book Lust there was a book called "The Word Museum: The Most Remarkable English Words Ever Forgotten" that I thought sounded interesting and I am going to have to look that one up to read.
